Motor Cars (LMV) and two-wheelers dominate. A rising EV share in specific vehicle classes (e.g. e-Scooters) indicates electrification momentum in that segment.
Norms Compliance
Emissions standards distribution
A dominant BS6 slice means the fleet is mostly modern and compliant. Large BS4 or below shares indicate older vehicles still on road — relevant for pollution policy.
EV Penetration by State
Electric vehicles as % of total registrations per state — states sorted by EV share (highest first)
Insight
EV% corrects for state size — small states like Goa or Chandigarh may rank higher than UP even though UP has more EVs in absolute numbers. Use this for targeting EV policy or charging infrastructure investments.
Maker Market Share — Top 20
Market share % on Y-axis · bubble size = total volume — reveals concentration vs long-tail distribution

Includes PURE EV, Electric(BOV), Strong Hybrid, and Plug-in Hybrid as “EV.” A growing green segment means the transition is accelerating at the national level.
