Suratwwala Natural Energy Bags ₹69 Crore Solar EPC Deal While Candour Techtex Enters DRDO Supply Chain

Indian markets witnessed targeted stock-specific momentum as Suratwwala Business Group Limited and Candour Techtex Limited (CTL) announced major order wins and strategic partnerships across renewable energy and defence technical textiles.

Suratwwala Natural Energy Secures ₹69 Crore Solar EPC Project

Suratwwala Natural Energy Resource Private Limited, a subsidiary of Pune-headquartered Suratwwala Business Group Limited, has received a confirmed Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Letter of Intent valued at ₹69 crore (excluding GST) from domestic sugar cooperative Shree Tatyasaheb Kore Warana SSK Ltd.

The key parameters of the EPC contract include:

  • Capacity and Scope: Design, supply, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of a 20 MW AC (28.1 MW DC) ground-mounted solar power plant located across Kolhapur and Sangli districts in Maharashtra.
  • Execution Timetable: The project is scheduled for completion within a four-month timeframe from the agreed commencement date.
  • Operations & Maintenance (O&M): The contract includes recurring O&M services valued at ₹50 lakh per annum, with an annual minimum guaranteed generation threshold of 42.0048 million units (MUs).

The ₹69 crore order marks a pivotal scaling step for Suratwwala's energy vertical, which began accelerating its contributions alongside the company's real estate development business in FY26. The order provides substantial revenue visibility given that the contract size equals nearly half of the group's full-year FY26 consolidated revenue of ₹142.99 crore. Following the announcement, shares of Suratwwala Business Group surged to lock in at their 20% upper circuit on the BSE.

Candour Techtex Enters Indian Defence Supply Chain

In a parallel development within technical textiles, Malegaon-based Candour Techtex Limited (CTL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kolhapur-based Ratanmoti Texfab (India) Pvt. Ltd. (RMTF).

Under the MoU terms:

  • Process Integration: RMTF will supply fabrics to CTL, which will execute advanced coating and lamination processes at its manufacturing units according to rigorous technical and defense specifications.
  • Institutional Supply: The coated and laminated technical fabrics are targeted for specialised Indian defence applications, integrating CTL's manufacturing capabilities into the supply chain serving the Aerial Delivery Research and Development Establishment (ADRDE) under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

The tie-up supports CTL's broader strategic push into high-margin technical textiles, high-performance industrial fabrics, and domestic defence manufacturing under the 'Make in India' framework.

Market Impact and Sector Outlook

These announcements reflect wider industrial shifts across India:

Cooperative & Industrial Renewable Adoption: Energy-intensive entities such as cooperative sugar mills and agro-industrial plants are increasingly deploying utility-scale captive solar installations to hedge against rising commercial grid tariffs.

Indigenisation of Defence Consumables: Localised manufacturing of coated, specialised materials for DRDO-linked supply chains presents long-term expansion avenues for domestic textile manufacturers migrating away from generic commoditised fabrics.
