Maharashtra Oil Extractions Files Draft IPO Papers to Raise Rs 370 Crore via Fresh Issue Alongside OFS

Edible oil and soybean processor Maharashtra Oil Extractions Limited has filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to raise capital through an initial public offering (IPO).

The public offering features a combination of fresh capital mobilization and an exit route for existing shareholders. According to the preliminary documents submitted to the regulator, the issue consists of a fresh issue of shares aggregating up to Rs 370 crore, alongside an Offer for Sale (OFS) of up to 2,14,28,571 equity shares with a face value of Rs 10 each.

The company proposes to list its equity shares on both major Indian bourses, the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and the BSE. IDBI Capital Markets & Securities Limited has been appointed as the sole book running lead manager for the issue, while MUFG Intime India Private Limited (formerly Link Intime) will serve as the registrar.

Business Operations and Infrastructure

Incorporated in 1995 and headquartered in Dhule, Maharashtra, the agribusiness company specializes in processing, manufacturing, marketing, and selling products across the soybean value chain. Its primary product catalog comprises:

  • Crude and refined edible soybean oil
  • Food-grade and feed-grade soybean meal and soya flour
  • Textured Soya Protein (TSP) and lecithin
  • Industrial by-products, cottonseed oil, and fortified sunflower oil

The enterprise runs four manufacturing facilities across Maharashtra—operating three directly and one through its subsidiary—with total installed capacities reaching 4,20,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) for soybean crushing and 61,050 MTPA for edible oil refining. To support supply-chain operations and crop storage, the company has built extensive storage silos, bins, and bulk oil tanks, while expanding storage capacities at its flagship Dhule facility.

Market Presence and Growth Strategy

Maharashtra Oil Extractions serves both domestic and overseas markets via business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) distribution models. Its commercial distribution network spans across 20 states and Union Territories in India, catering to retail channels, institutional buyers, food processors, and export clients.

Proceeds generated from the fresh issue will be deployed towards strengthening operational capacity, meeting working capital requirements, and funding general corporate purposes. The pricing band, minimum bid lot sizes, and exact subscription dates will be finalized following the review and observation letter from SEBI.
