Editorial policy: how Flash Finance makes, checks and corrects what it publishes
Much of Flash Finance is produced by software, and some of it is written with AI. This page sets out the standards all of it is published under, who is responsible for them, and how to tell us when we get something wrong. Last updated 4 October 2026.
Who is responsible
Kokila, our Chief Editor, is accountable for what Flash Finance publishes: the standards on this page, how they are applied, and corrections. Questions or complaints about any page can be sent to contact@flashfinance.news.
What we publish, and how each kind is made
- Computed data. Market dashboards, screeners, company fundamentals, technical scores, sector and index pages, seasonality and backtests are calculated by code from exchange data and company filings. No language model writes or changes these numbers. The rules behind each one are published in our methodology.
- Written with AI. News articles, the analysis of company announcements, company profiles and Multibagger AI briefs are drafted by AI models (Google Gemini, on Google Cloud's Vertex AI) from exchange filings, data feeds and news sources. They are labelled as written with AI.
- Research studies. Studies such as our backtests of market patterns are computed by code and written up for readers. Each one is reviewed before it is published.
Accuracy and sources
- Primary sources first. We work from NSE and BSE filings and data files, company results and official statistics rather than second-hand reports. Our data sources page lists where each dataset comes from and when it refreshes.
- Figures are checked against the source. Financial results extracted from filings pass two automated checks before they are published: the reporting period is cross-checked, and the new figures are compared with the company's history. Figures in Multibagger AI briefs must be backed by a quote from the filing they came from, or they are dropped.
- We withhold rather than guess. When an input is missing, a score is not shown, and the page says why. Data pages show the date of the data they display.
How content is reviewed
Our editors and AI review agents check content for data correctness. News articles are generated and published automatically within minutes of a filing, so they are reviewed after publication: an error found by these checks or reported by a reader is corrected as described below. Research studies and changes to how a score is calculated are reviewed before they go live.
Research and backtest standards
- Every published test states its rules in full: the stocks it covers, the period, when it enters and exits, and the trading costs it assumes.
- Results show drawdowns and losing periods, not just returns.
- Known limits are stated on the page: for example, when a test can only use today's index members, or when a dataset has a short history.
- Weak or negative results are reported as such, not dropped from a study.
- A backtest describes what a set of rules would have done in the past, under stated assumptions. It is not a forecast.
How we use AI
AI drafts our news articles, summarises company filings, extracts figures from filings and answers questions in AI Chat. It does not calculate market data, scores or backtests. Pages written with AI are labelled. Our page How Flash Finance uses AI lists which parts of the site are calculated, which are written with AI, and how errors are handled.
Data updates
Market data refreshes on fixed schedules, mostly in the evening after the market closes; the data sources page gives the times. When the methodology behind a published number changes, its methodology page is updated at the same time.
Corrections
- Tell us. Email contact@flashfinance.news with the link to the page and what looks wrong.
- We fix the cause, not just the page. A wrong figure is corrected in the underlying data or in the code that produced it, so every page that uses it is fixed together.
- We say what changed. When a correction changes a figure or a conclusion in an article or a study, we add a dated note to that page saying what was corrected.
Independence and disclosures
- No company pays for coverage, for its position on a page, or for a score, and no company sees our content before it is published.
- What we cover is decided by rules (every filing, every company that meets a screen's criteria), not by relationships.
- We do not publish sponsored content.
- If anyone at Flash Finance holds shares in a company that a research study features, the study says so.
Not investment advice
Nothing on Flash Finance is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold a security. Flash Finance is not registered with SEBI as an investment adviser or research analyst. Signals, scores and labels on the site describe what the data shows; they do not tell you what to do. Please do your own research, or consult a SEBI-registered adviser, before investing.
