Questions
What is NSE Emerge?
NSE's platform for small and medium enterprises, with lighter listing requirements than the main board. Companies can later migrate to the main board once they meet its criteria.
Why are SME stocks riskier?
Smaller companies, shorter operating histories, lighter disclosure, a fixed minimum lot size, and very thin trading. A stock quoted at a 20% gain may have got there on a few orders, and exiting a position can be considerably harder than entering one.
Can I buy SME shares like any other stock?
Yes, through any broker, but only in the exchange-specified lot size rather than single shares. That makes the minimum ticket meaningfully larger than on the main board.
Why does this page show liquidity so prominently?
Because on this board it is usually the dominant fact. A percentage move on ₹40,000 of turnover is arithmetic, not demand, and presenting it as a gainer without that context would be misleading.
How to read this page. Everything here is a description of data the exchange has already published — it is not a forecast, a recommendation, or a signal to buy or sell. Labels such as "accumulation", "short buildup" or "support" name a pattern in the numbers, nothing more. SME securities are high-risk, thinly traded, and may be difficult or impossible to exit at the quoted price.
