About this screen
Dividend yield is the dividend per share divided by the share price. It is based on dividends already paid, so it is a record of the past and not a promise. The traps are a yield that is high only because the price has collapsed, and a payout the company cannot sustain from its profits. Check that profits cover the dividend and that the 3-year profit growth is not steeply negative. PSU companies dominate this list because the government, as majority owner, asks them for large payouts.
