Chetak Clinches Top Model Position
Bajaj Auto's Chetak secured the top position among individual models, breaching the 52,000-unit milestone. Dispatches of the Chetak surged 273% year-on-year to 52,248 units in August 2026, compared to 14,014 units reported in August 2025.
The scooter contributed an incremental 38,234 units—the largest absolute volume gain registered by any single model in the tracked dataset. With this performance, Chetak alone accounted for 27.9% of all listed electric two-wheeler volumes during the month, finishing 9,366 units ahead of its nearest competitor.
TVS Leads Overall Manufacturer Volumes

TVS's volume was anchored by two key products:
- TVS iQube: Ranked second overall with 42,882 units, recording a 76% increase over the 24,434 units dispatched in August 2025.
- TVS Orbiter: Placed fifth in the individual model rankings, delivering 14,641 units and significantly boosting TVS's consolidated footprint.
Hero Vida Overtakes Ather Rizta
Hero MotoCorp's electric scooter brand Vida recorded strong growth, more than doubling its dispatches to 25,558 units compared to 12,273 units in August 2025. Vida’s 108% year-on-year increase earned it the third position among electric two-wheeler models.
Ather Energy's family-focused Rizta followed in fourth place with 22,586 units, reflecting a 30% rise from 17,344 units in August 2025. Hero Vida finished August with a lead of 2,972 units over the Rizta.
The top four entries—Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Hero Vida, and Ather Rizta—amassed a combined total of 1,43,274 units, making up 76.5% of the overall listed volume.
Niche and Emerging Model Highlights
Beyond the top four nameplates, several other manufacturers posted positive growth from smaller bases:
- Greaves Electric Mobility: Recorded total dispatches of 12,439 units across its portfolio, including 1,911 units for the Reo (up 272%) and 756 units for the Nexus (up 107%), alongside the Magnus.
- Honda: Registered 1,902 units of the QC1, while dispatches of the Activa E climbed to 140 units compared to 20 units a year earlier.
- Japanese Incumbents: Suzuki’s e-Access recorded 668 units, while Yamaha’s EC06 stood at 475 units.
Every tracked model with a non-zero dispatch comparison in August 2025 registered positive annual growth. As automakers gear up for the upcoming festive period, market watchers expect established original equipment manufacturers to leverage their expansive retail presence and financing partnerships to sustain this strong volume trajectory.
