How it's calculated

Add GST: tax = base × rate%. Remove GST: base = inclusive ÷ (1 + rate%). Intra-state supplies split the tax equally into CGST + SGST; inter-state is a single IGST.

Frequently asked questions

What are the GST slabs now?

After the 56th GST Council's GST 2.0 reform (effective 22 September 2025): 0% on essentials, 5% merit rate, 18% standard rate, and 40% on select luxury/sin goods. Special rates of 3% (gold/silver) and 0.25% (rough diamonds) continue. 12% and 28% no longer exist.

How do I remove GST from an MRP?

Divide by (1 + rate). Example: ₹1,180 inclusive at 18% → base ₹1,000, GST ₹180. Pick 'Remove GST' mode above.
