Overnight Wall Street indices ended lower as escalating Middle East tensions and concerns over sticky inflation weighed on investor sentiment. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 628.18 points, or 1.18%, to 52,786.07, while the S&P 500 slipped 0.58% to 7,673.52 and the Nasdaq Composite declined 0.32% to 26,421.41.

In Asian trading this morning, sentiment is mixed. Japan’s Nikkei 225 eased 0.23%, while South Korea’s Kospi gained 0.36%. The biggest overhang for emerging markets remains energy commodities. Brent crude climbed over 1.5% to trade near $99.40 a barrel, and WTI crude traded at $94.66 a barrel after recent US-Iran confrontations stoked concerns over Middle Eastern energy supply disruptions.

On Tuesday, domestic benchmarks closed lower for a second consecutive session. Analysts note that the 23,600 mark will serve as immediate critical support for Nifty 50; a decisive breach below this could trigger further downside towards 23,500, whereas any relief pullback will encounter resistance near 23,750–23,800.
