Acutaas Chemicals Surges 13 Percent to Record High Following 73 Percent Jump in Q2 Net Profit
Shares of Acutaas Chemicals Limited surged as much as 13 percent in intraday trading to hit a record high following the announcement of robust financial results for the second quarter. The strong rally comes on the back of sharp operating margin expansion and substantial top-line acceleration across its core and emerging product portfolios.
The Surat-headquartered manufacturer has emerged as one of the standout performers in the Indian specialty chemicals space. Thus far in calendar year 2026, the company’s share price has zoomed 116 percent, sharply defying broader market weakness as the benchmark Nifty 500 index declined 9.4 percent over the same timeframe.
Solid Operational Growth Drives Second Quarter
Acutaas Chemicals delivered strong numbers across revenue, operating profit, and net earnings for the September quarter.
Key Financial Highlights:
- Revenue from Operations: Revenue rose 42.8 percent year-on-year to Rs 437 crore (Rs 436.9 crore), compared with Rs 306 crore recorded in the corresponding period last fiscal.
- Operating EBITDA: Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) advanced 85.3 percent year-on-year to Rs 176 crore, up from Rs 95 crore in the prior-year period.
- Net Profit (PAT): Consolidated profit after tax attributable to shareholders surged 73.3 percent year-on-year to Rs 125 crore, compared to Rs 72 crore reported a year earlier.
The company's bottom-line expansion was aided by strong operational efficiencies, higher volumes, and an enriched product mix.
Strategic Push into High-Margin Verticals
Acutaas Chemicals—formerly known as Ami Organics prior to its rebranding—operates heavily within advanced pharmaceutical intermediates for regulated and generic active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and New Chemical Entities (NCEs).
Under the leadership of Executive Chairman & Managing Director Naresh Patel, the company has actively diversified into next-generation growth areas, including battery chemicals and semiconductor-grade materials. The firm is currently India's only manufacturer of semiconductor-grade photoresist chemicals, supplying overseas markets including South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and the United States. During the period, trial runs also commenced at its South Korean semiconductor materials facility, setting the stage for further global scale.
For Indian equity investors tracking the broader chemical recovery, Acutaas Chemicals' sustained earnings momentum and capacity expansion into high-entry-barrier specialty segments underscore continuing demand tailwinds despite broader macroeconomic challenges.
