Oyo Parent Prism Q1 Profit Rises 17% to ₹353 Crore on Strong Booking Growth Ahead of IPO
Hospitality technology company Prism (formerly Oravel Stays), the parent entity of Oyo, recorded a 17% year-on-year rise in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to ₹353 crore for the first quarter ended June 30 of financial year 2026–27 (Q1FY27). The company had reported a net profit of ₹301 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
The quarterly net profit was supported by an operational expansion as well as a deferred tax credit of approximately ₹244 crore, according to audited financial results.
Strong Topline and Booking Momentum
Consolidated revenue from operations advanced 35% year-on-year to ₹2,814 crore in Q1FY27, compared with ₹2,078 crore in the first quarter of FY26. The performance was driven by sustained demand across domestic and international hospitality portfolios.
Gross Booking Value (GBV) increased 30% year-on-year to approximately ₹9,600 crore, up from ₹7,408 crore in the year-ago period.
Key operational metrics for Q1FY27 include:
- Consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) grew 24% year-on-year to ₹760 crore from ₹611 crore.
- Adjusted EBITDA, net of lease expenses, climbed 35% year-on-year to ₹589 crore.
- Hotel segment bookings witnessed a 30% annual increase.
- Vacation homes bookings expanded by 28% year-on-year.
Operational Drivers and Platform Scale
Ritesh Agarwal, Founder and Chairman of Prism, attributed the performance to investments in proprietary technology platforms, brand architecture, distribution networks, and artificial intelligence-led operating efficiencies.
Agarwal noted that Prism’s centralised technology infrastructure—which manages pricing, reservations, distribution, and property management—serves as the backbone across markets. While the company has steadily grown its presence abroad through brands such as Studio 6 and Sunday Hotels, India continues to function as its core operating hub and technology anchor alongside its domestic lodging footprint.
Significance for IPO-Bound Entity
Prism’s operational turnaround and sustained earnings expansion arrive at a critical juncture as the company advances toward its initial public offering (IPO). Credit rating agencies have recently updated the firm's outlook to positive, citing deleveraging prospects and stable cash generation.
Backed by steady operating cash flows, the company has evaluated sizing its fresh equity raise between ₹3,350 crore and ₹6,650 crore, primarily directed toward debt reduction and balance sheet strengthening. The Q1FY27 results provide Dalal Street and institutional market participants with crucial visibility into the lodging major's post-turnaround profitability trajectory.
