🇮🇳 India Daybook: ONGC Shines with 23% Profit Growth; J Kumar Infra Bags ₹616 Cr Order

📍 EARNINGS UPDATE

• ONGC: Reported a 23% surge in consolidated net profit to ₹11,946 crore for the December quarter. The company also declared a second interim dividend of ₹6.25 per equity share.
• Coal India: Net profit declined 16% YoY to ₹7,166 crore, primarily impacted by a one-time provision of ₹2,201 crore for executive pay revision. The board declared a third interim dividend of ₹5.50 per share.
• Hindalco Industries: Consolidated profit halved to ₹2,049 crore despite a 14% rise in revenue to ₹66,521 crore. Earnings were dragged down by exceptional losses related to disruptions at its US subsidiary Novelis’ Oswego facility.
• Muthoot Finance: Standalone net profit doubled to ₹2,656 crore, supported by a 64% jump in revenue and strong growth in the gold loan portfolio.
• Honasa Consumer (Mamaearth): The company nearly tripled its net profit to ₹50 crore, with revenue reaching a record high of ₹602 crore.
• IRCTC: Reported a 15.6% YoY growth in net profit at ₹394.3 crore, driven by strong performance in the catering and internet ticketing segments.
• Biocon: Consolidated net profit saw a five-fold jump to ₹144 crore, aided by strong growth in generics and biosimilar verticals.
• Engineers India: Profit tripled to ₹347 crore as revenue surged 58% YoY with healthy margins of 29%.

📍 ORDER WIN

• J Kumar Infraprojects: Secured a prestigious order worth ₹616 crore from NBCC for the redevelopment of the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) colony in Ghitorni, Delhi.
• TVS Supply Chain Solutions: Reported a return to profitability and announced a robust new business pipeline of ₹6,300 crore, with new order wins contributing ₹319 crore in the latest quarter.

📍 USFDA APPROVAL

• Alembic Pharmaceuticals: Received final approval from the USFDA for its generic version of Carbidopa, Levodopa, and Entacapone tablets used to treat Parkinson’s disease.
• Alembic Pharmaceuticals: Also secured USFDA approval for Difluprednate Ophthalmic Emulsion (0.05%), a generic version of Durezol used for ocular surgery pain relief.

📍 ACQUISITION & MERGER

• PFC & REC: Both entities informed exchanges that their merger transition is progressing smoothly. The merged entity will have a single-entity exposure cap of 20% and expects no material borrowing constraints.
• Hindustan Unilever (HUL): Completed the full acquisition of Zywie Ventures (OZiva) while divesting its stake in Nutritionalab as part of its portfolio optimization strategy.

📍 MANAGEMENT CHANGE

• GAIL (India): The government has appointed Deepak Gupta as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), effective from March 1, 2026.
• AU Small Finance Bank: Received RBI approval for the reappointment of its Managing Director, effective from April 2026.
