India's hybrid vehicle market registered 47,515 vehicles in January 2026. Volumes rose sharply 13.8% against January 2025, and accelerated 40.8% on December 2025. It was the biggest month in our 3-year Vahan record.
That is 3 consecutive months of year-on-year growth for the segment. Year to date, 47,515 units have been registered across 1 month, +13.8% on the same stretch of 2025 (41,765). The segment accounted for 1.7% of every vehicle registered in India that month.
January carries the new-year registration rush — buyers who took delivery in late December often register in the first week.
