How October went
India's two-wheeler market registered 21,36,090 vehicles in October 2024. Volumes accelerated 36.6% against October 2023, and shot up 69.2% on September.
Year to date, 1,56,76,638 units have been registered across 10 months, +13.1% on the same stretch of 2023 (1,38,63,170). The segment accounted for 72.2% of every vehicle registered in India that month.
October is the festive peak. Navratri and Diwali make it the single biggest registration month of most years, so year-on-year comparisons swing on where the festivals fall.

Every figure is a vehicle registration, taken daily from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways' Vahan 4 dashboard (vahan.parivahan.gov.in) — the same source FADA and the industry use for retail data. Registrations are not the wholesale dispatch numbers manufacturers announce each month. "EV" means battery electric (Vahan fuels PURE EV and ELECTRIC(BOV)); hybrids are counted separately.
