Atomberg Technologies Secures SEBI Approval for IPO, Allocates Rs 150 Crore for Brand and Performance Marketing
Consumer appliances maker Atomberg Technologies Limited has received the green light from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to launch its initial public offering (IPO). The market regulator issued its final observation letter on October 30, 2026, clearing the path for the Mumbai-based company to tap the domestic primary markets.
According to the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP), Atomberg’s proposed public issue comprises a fresh issue of equity shares aggregating up to Rs 450 crore alongside an Offer for Sale (OFS) of up to 7,65,42,051 equity shares by existing investors and promoters. Market estimates suggest the total issue size could raise between Rs 1,500 crore and Rs 2,000 crore, depending on the final valuation band.
Allocation of Fresh Issue Proceeds
The company has set aside one-third of its fresh capital pool to expand its retail visibility and reinforce brand presence:
- Brand Awareness and Marketing: Rs 150 crore will be allocated toward brand awareness and performance marketing campaigns, earmarked in equal tranches of Rs 75 crore across FY27 and FY28.
- Research and Development (R&D): Rs 100 crore has been dedicated to funding ongoing product innovation, motor design, and smart appliance engineering.
- Debt Reduction: Rs 90 crore will be utilized for the prepayment or scheduled repayment of outstanding borrowings.
- General Corporate Purposes: The residual fresh funds will be reserved to support day-to-day operations and strategic requirements.
Through the OFS component, institutional backers including A91 Partners, Temasek-backed V-Sciences Investments, Jungle Ventures, Inflexor Ventures, Steadview Capital Mauritius, and Survam Partners LLP will pare down part of their shareholdings.
Escalating Marketing Battle in Consumer Electricals
The Rs 150-crore war chest underscores Atomberg’s strategy to solidify consumer recall in a sector dominated by entrenched conglomerates like Havells India, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals, Orient Electric, and Bajaj Electricals.
Atomberg's advertising and sales promotion expenses rose 30.2% year-on-year to Rs 135.35 crore in FY26, compared to Rs 103.97 crore in FY25 and Rs 76.42 crore in FY24. Advertising spends accounted for 10.46% of its operating revenue in FY26. Digital marketing has emerged as the core vehicle, climbing to Rs 56.64 crore in FY26 and accounting for 41.85% of total promotional outlays, up from 23.36% two years prior.
Growth Profile and Financial Overview
Founded in 2012 by Manoj Meena and Sibabrata Das, Atomberg disrupted India’s ceiling fan landscape by pioneering brushless direct current (BLDC) motor technology, delivering up to 65% energy savings over traditional induction fans. The company has since expanded into mixer grinders, water purifiers, cold-pressed juicers, and smart locks. Through its subsidiary, Atomberg Innovations, it also supplies proprietary motors and controllers to B2B enterprise clients such as Voltas, Godrej, and Blue Star.

- Topline Expansion: Revenue from operations surged 34.8% to Rs 1,293.77 crore in FY26, up from Rs 959.51 crore in FY25.
- Profitability: The company posted a net loss of Rs 148.88 crore in FY26.
- Market Position: According to industry reports from Redseer cited in the draft papers, Atomberg commanded approximately 46% of India's premium fan segment (average selling price exceeding Rs 3,500) by value in FY26.
- Distribution Footprint: As of March 31, 2026, the company’s omnichannel distribution spanned 626 distributors, over 46,900 retail touchpoints across nearly 1,600 cities, and an after-sales service network covering more than 18,000 pin codes. Tier-2 and smaller towns contributed roughly half of offline consumer appliance revenues.
The IPO is being steered by book-running lead managers ICICI Securities, Avendus Capital, and IIFL Capital Services. With regulatory clearance in hand, Atomberg is expected to file its updated prospectus and finalize its pricing band in the coming weeks.
