Tracxn Technologies Posts INR 4.1 Crore Q2 FY27 Net Loss as Strategic Expansion Weighs on Margins
Private market intelligence provider Tracxn Technologies has reported a widening of net losses in its second quarter of FY27, reflecting sustained investments in customer acquisition, platform capabilities, and specialized sales capacity amid subdued global tech funding.
The company posted a consolidated profit after tax (PAT) loss of INR 4.1 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared to a profit of INR 0.5 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. Revenue from operations reached INR 21.3 crore, up 1.1% sequentially and 0.3% year-on-year, reflecting an essentially flat top-line performance on a consolidated basis.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) dropped to negative INR 5.9 crore, widening from negative INR 4.2 crore in Q1 FY27 and negative INR 0.6 crore in Q2 FY26. The company concluded the quarter with cash and cash equivalents of INR 85.9 crore, marking a sequential decrease of INR 2.4 crore. Despite the bottom-line strain, Tracxn's shares gained 3.4% to close at INR 32.22 on the bourses following the earnings presentation.

India Market Outperforms International Business
The domestic business emerged as the key growth driver during the quarter. Revenue from the Indian market expanded 6.9% sequentially and now accounts for over 50% of the company's total revenue base.
This domestic momentum comes at a time when international demand has remained subdued due to macroeconomic headwinds and lower dealmaking activity globally. The company noted that deal volumes and venture funding worldwide continue to linger around decade lows, prompting institutional clients to constrain software and data budgets.
Vertical Expansion and Strategic Direction
To counter cyclical weaknesses in the venture capital and early-stage startup segments, Tracxn has repositioned its sales motion toward alternative user groups. Management noted that its vertical-led strategy in India is yielding traction in sectors such as:
- Investment Banking and M&A: Providing active deal pipeline data and advisory workflows.
- Enterprise and Corporate Development: Serving corporate innovation, strategy, and corporate venture capital arms.
- Higher Education and Incubators: Deepening penetration across premier academic institutions, including Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).
The company is also embedding generative artificial intelligence capabilities and proprietary dataset add-ons—such as corporate trees, CXO tracking, and regulatory filings—into its core SaaS subscription platform.
Management indicated that while building these capabilities and expanding direct sales headcount increases immediate cost pressures, Tracxn's centralized operational engine in India offers significant operating leverage. The company expects an inflection in operating margins once consolidated top-line growth accelerates beyond current run rates.
