How July went
India's CNG and LPG vehicle market registered 1,09,435 vehicles in July 2024. Volumes rose sharply 23.1% against July 2023, and grew strongly 14.1% on June.
That is 19 consecutive months of year-on-year growth for the segment. Year to date, 7,17,776 units have been registered across 7 months, +30.5% on the same stretch of 2023 (5,49,989). The segment accounted for 5.1% of every vehicle registered in India that month.
July sits inside the monsoon, historically a soft month for urban showroom footfall and a strong one for farm equipment.

Where the demand is
Maharashtra was the largest market in full-year 2024 with 2,56,710 registrations, 19.5% of the segment's national total. Gujarat (2,23,306) and Uttar Pradesh (1,77,794) followed. Rajasthan has gained the most ground, adding 0.83pp of the national total.
