India registered 14,690 electric cars in June 2025, +110.7% on June 2024 and +4.6% on May.
Across the 6 completed months of 2025 to June, 78,148 electric cars have been registered, +71.6% on the same months of 2024.
Electric cars were 5.0% of every car registered in June 2025, against 2.5% in June 2024 (+2.5pp).

Tata Motors (EV) led the month with 4,910 registrations — 33.4% of the electric car market — ahead of MG Motor on 4,645 (31.6%), a gap of 265 units. Tata Motors (EV) also led May.
Mahindra Electric Automobile has gained the most share against June 2024, +20.69pp to 20.7%; Tata Motors (EV) has lost the most, −29.71pp to 33.4%.
The top three hold 85.7% of the segment; 23 manufacturers registered at least one electric car.

How electric is each car maker?
Every car maker's June 2025 volume, split into battery-electric and everything else (petrol, diesel, CNG and hybrid). Leave the EVs out and Maruti Suzuki leads the non-electric cars market with 37.7%.
Among the established makers, MG Motor has gone furthest: 81.2% of its cars were electric.

Maharashtra registered the most electric cars in June 2025 — 2,270, 15.5% of the national total. Kerala (1,582) and Karnataka (1,434) followed.
