How December went
India's hybrid vehicle market registered 27,147 vehicles in December 2024. Volumes pushed ahead 22.3% against December 2023, and ticked lower 3.6% on November.
That is 3 consecutive months of year-on-year growth for the segment. Year to date, 3,57,476 units have been registered across 12 months, +7.5% on the same stretch of 2023 (3,32,484). The segment accounted for 1.5% of every vehicle registered in India that month.
December is the year-end discount month, though many buyers hold registration to January to keep a newer model year on the RC.

Where the demand is
Maharashtra was the largest market in full-year 2024 with 38,122 registrations, 10.7% of the segment's national total. Uttar Pradesh (33,039) and Karnataka (31,196) followed. Kerala has gained the most ground, adding 1.39pp of the national total.
