Model-Wise Demand Drivers
The volume expansion during the festive period was anchored by established utility vehicle nameplates alongside expanding alternative-fuel portfolios:
- Kia Seltos: The mid-size SUV emerged as the primary growth engine, crossing 13,000 units in October to account for nearly 39% of the company's total monthly dispatches. Following its generational update launched in January 2026, the Seltos has consistently recorded monthly volumes in excess of 10,000 units.
- Kia Sonet: The sub-compact SUV continued to sustain strong retail traction in the sub-4-metre segment throughout the festive weeks.
- CNG Expansion: The Carens and Carens Clavis CNG options contributed significantly to volume growth, with CNG variants together accounting for roughly 10% of total dispatches, representing about 3,300 vehicles.
- Electric Vehicles: Kia's EV shipments hit an all-time monthly high, climbing 31% sequentially compared to September 2026, powered by the Syros EV and Carens Clavis EV.
- Premium Utility Offerings: The Kia Sorento, offered with hybrid and diesel powertrains, continued to witness positive customer traction in the premium segment.
Strategic Outlook and Market Footprint
Commenting on the sales performance, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Kia India, noted that eclipsing the previous sales peak within one month reflected strong customer trust and an effective multi-powertrain approach. The company credited healthy festive showroom traffic, established model loyalty, and favorable acceptance of newer powertrains for driving the momentum.
