Maruti Suzuki Clocks Record Monthly Sales of 2.76 Lakh Units in October 2026 as Domestic Demand and Exports Surge

India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, posted its highest-ever monthly sales tally in October 2026, delivering 2,76,120 total units across domestic and overseas channels. The milestone represents a 25% year-on-year growth over October 2025 and surpasses the company's previous monthly high of approximately 2.43 lakh units achieved in May 2026.

The record monthly dispatches were driven by broad-based festive demand, robust wholesale momentum in utility vehicles, and expanding shipments to export markets as well as supply arrangements with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) like Toyota.

Domestic Market Dispatches Top 2.12 Lakh Cars

Domestic passenger car sales rose to 2,12,384 units in October 2026, registering a 20.46% increase compared to 1,76,318 units in October 2025. On a sequential basis, volumes improved by 16.80% or 30,546 units from the 1,81,838 units dispatched in September 2026.

When including supplies to other OEMs, Maruti Suzuki's total domestic volume stood at 2,26,248 units for the month.

Segment-Wise Performance

Passenger cars and utility vehicles maintained a close contest for market share within the brand's portfolio:

  • Small and Midsize Cars: The combined mini, compact, and midsize segment—encompassing models such as the Alto, Baleno, Celerio, Ciaz, Dzire, Ignis, S-Presso, Swift, and WagonR—registered 1,00,877 units. This reflected an 18.39% increase from 85,210 units recorded in October 2025.
  • Utility Vehicles: Sales of utility vehicles reached 97,787 units, growing 26.06% from 77,571 units in the corresponding month of the prior year. The UV lineup includes the Brezza, Ertiga, eVitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris, and XL6.
  • Vans: Dispatches for the Eeco van stood at 13,720 units, reflecting a 1.35% increase over 13,537 units sold in October 2025.

Exports Surge Near 50,000 Units

A major catalyst for the all-time high volume was overseas shipments. Maruti Suzuki exported 49,872 units in October 2026, marking a 59.32% surge compared to 31,304 units shipped in October 2025. The incremental export gain of 18,568 units accounted for roughly one-third of the automaker's total year-on-year volume expansion.

Cumulative FY27 Run Rate

For the April–October period of the financial year 2026–27 (FY27), Maruti Suzuki's cumulative total sales crossed 16.55 lakh units, reaching 16,55,498 units. This marks a 27.38% expansion from 12,99,629 units sold during the same period in the prior fiscal year. Domestic car dispatches in the seven-month period rose by 33.02% to reach 12,92,624 units.
