How FII and DII flows are tracked

NSE's provisional daily cash-market figures, summed into windows and streaks.

NSE publishes provisional FII/FPI and DII cash-market buy, sell and net figures every evening. Flash Finance stores each day's figures and derives:

  • Windows: net flow summed over 1, 5, 20, 63, 126 and 252 trading sessions, shown next to the Nifty 50's return over the same window.
  • Flow regime from the signs of the 5-day FII and DII totals: both buying, both selling, domestic absorbing foreign selling, or foreign buying while domestic sells.
  • Streaks: consecutive sessions each side has been a net buyer or seller.

Known limit: NSE offers no history endpoint for this data, so the series starts on 18 September 2026, the day collection began. Longer windows fill in as sessions accumulate, and each window states how many sessions it actually covers. The figures are provisional; NSDL's final FPI data can differ.
