How the 'stock market today' page is assembled
A daily summary stitched from the site's own exchange-data builds.
The stock market today page is not a separate data feed. It reads the same published snapshots the rest of the site uses, so every figure matches the page it links to:
- Index levels, changes and P/E: NSE and BSE end-of-day index files (updated around 11:00 and 17:00 IST).
- Breadth, FII/DII, F&O, deals, circuits, delivery and VIX: the Market Intelligence build (18:20 and 21:40 IST).
- Gainers, losers, most active and 52-week highs: the technical snapshot (18:05 and 21:15 IST), limited to the top 500 stocks for gainers and losers.
Because these land at different times, a section can briefly show the previous session. When it does, the page says which. The What changed today list is written by fixed rules from the figures on the page, not by a language model, so it cannot state anything the data does not show and contains no forecast.
