📖 What an inverse head and shoulders is

A low (left shoulder), a lower low (head), then a higher low roughly level with the first (right shoulder). The line joining the two intervening peaks is the neckline.

Why it forms

The head is the capitulation low. The right shoulder holding well above it says sellers can no longer push price down, and the neckline break confirms the downtrend's lower highs are finished.

🎯 Trigger

A close above the neckline, ideally on rising volume.

📏 Target

Measure from the bottom of the head up to the neckline and project that distance above the break point.

🛑 Invalidation

A close below the right shoulder, and certainly below the head.

Forming

The shaded band is the formation. On tops and bottoms the indigo line traces the shape itself — up into the left shoulder, over the head, and away from the right — and the dashed line is the neckline it has to break; on triangles, wedges and channels the two solid boundaries are the pattern. Triangle markers are the swing highs and lows those lines were fitted through, and the dash-dot line is the measured-move target once the pattern has broken.
❓ Inverse Head and Shoulders FAQ
Is an inverse head and shoulders bullish?
Yes — it is the standard bullish reversal pattern at the end of a downtrend, confirmed by a close above the neckline.
How reliable is the inverse head and shoulders?
It is among the better-regarded reversal patterns, particularly when the right shoulder forms on visibly lighter volume than the head and the breakout comes on heavy volume.
How do you measure the target?
The vertical distance from the head to the neckline, projected up from where price closes above the neckline. Flash Finance calculates and shows this target on every detected pattern.

How these are found: swing highs and lows are picked out with a percentage ZigZag on daily and weekly candles, and the boundaries are line-fitted through those swings. A formation is only published when the fit is tight, the boundaries are actually touched several times, and the price action stays inside them. The most recent swing is provisional, so a forming pattern can still change shape on the next candle, and patterns whose break already played out are dropped rather than shown as fresh.
