📖 How to write a screen

A screen is a list of conditions. Each condition compares a parameter with a number or with another parameter, optionally multiplied: close > ema20, rsi14 < 30, volume > 1.5 * vol_avg20. Join conditions with AND / OR, group them with brackets and negate with NOT:

close > ema20 AND ema20 > ema50 AND (rsi14 < 30 OR rsi14 > 70) AND NOT squeeze_on

Crossovers compare today with the previous session: macd crosses above macd_signal, close crosses below ema50, rsi14 crosses above 50. Yes/no parameters (like new_52wh or cdl_bullish_engulfing) can be used on their own.

Multi-timeframe: weekly and monthly fields sit alongside daily ones, so trend_m = 1 AND trend_w = 1 AND rsi14 < 40 finds a daily pullback inside a monthly and weekly uptrend.

❓ Questions
How often is the screener data updated?
Every trading evening after the NSE close. Every indicator is computed on end-of-day candles, so a screen describes the latest completed session — it is not an intraday scanner.
What does the “Liquid” universe exclude?
Stocks averaging under ₹1 crore of daily turnover over 20 sessions, and anything priced below ₹10. Thinly traded names produce textbook signals you cannot actually trade at the printed prices. Switch to “All NSE stocks” to include them.
Where do the numbers come from?
Split-adjusted NSE daily prices. The indicator maths is the same engine that powers the Indicator Studio, so an RSI here is the RSI you see on a stock's chart there.
